Quick and Easy Healthy Snacks

4 Healthy Snacks Ideas

Let's be honest, avoiding snacks isn't sustainable, so make snacking healthy.

Sharing some of my favourite healthy snack ideas that are satisfying cravings and keeping me on track.

You can make them in less than 2mins!

Ever since working from home, spending the most time at home snacking is just way too easy.

We all know the name 'snacking' has a bad image, but healthy snacking is actually an important part of our diet. It provides energy in between meals which is a great way to avoid overeating at the main mealtime.

I find myself opening the fridge and the snack carbine way too often.

So we try to limit unhealthy snacks at home by replacing them with more fresh fruits, nuts, nut butter, natural or greek yogurt, and some high percentage coco dark chocolates.

While the temptations to reach for the milk chocolate, candy, chips and cheese balls are strong, I find some healthy ways to fix cravings.

Hummus Rice Cake

Hummus is a great source of protein and is packed with vitamins and minerals. Read the label to ensure no nasty is added when purchasing. Its also an excellent item to live in your fridge as usually they valid for a few weeks,

Spread the hummus on a rice cake, top it with cherry tomatoes and any seeds that you have laying around in the kitchen. I sprinkled some chia and sesame seeds for this picture.

Apple Wedges with Peanut Butter

Peanut butter is rich in healthy fats and a good source of protein, it may be high in calories but a small portion is enough to make you feel satisfied. Some people likes to replace it with almond butter but they don’t make much difference in terms of calories.

Cut the apple into wedges and spread some Peanut Butter on each of the wedges. Optionally you can drizzle some fresh lemon juice.

Dark Chocolate Almond & Berries

Dark chocolate and berries are packed with antioxidants and almonds have a lot of healthy fats, fibre, and protein.

I personally prefer dark chocolates that contain 70% plus cocoa, but anything over 50% is great.

Microwave 2 chocolate blocks and drizzle with almonds and berries. You can also add the almonds & berries into the blow of malted chocolates and eat them with a spoon if you can't wait for them to dry.

Banana & Nut Butter Rice Cracker

My personal favourite, always satisfying!!

Many people try to avoid bananas as it's arguably high in carbs and sugar, but bananas contain many important nutrients, antioxidants and a perfect fix for sugar cravings.

Cut ⅓ or half banana into slices, spread some nut butter on the rice cracker/cake and place the banana slices on top. Optionally I sprinkled some chia and sesame seeds for this picture.
